Cape Small
The Cape Small Farm is a boutique oyster farm nestled into Small Point Harbor at the mouth of the New Meadows River. Located at the crossroads of Casco Bay & Mid Coast Maine it is protected by its bold and mighty namesake Cape Small on one side and Hermit Island on the other. The calm farm waters receive a not so calm twice-daily incoming tidal dose of fresh & cold nutrient-rich Atlantic Ocean water that helps create as founder & farmer John likes to say “A sweet, tiny and briny” Maine oyster.
The Cape Small farm is how The Maine Oyster Company was born! It remains an active working farm focused on experiential and educational tours, along with small-scale production for the Maine Oyster Company’s oyster stand in Phippsburg & oyster bar in Portland.
